About the author
Alison was born and raised in Charleston, SC. As a child she would create (write) additional scenes to TV shows and movies that she watched. She attended Winthrop University and graduated with a major in Theater. While at school she began writing one act plays which she later produced. Throughout the years she continued writing and producing several one act plays, but then life got in the way and she hung up her pen for a while. At the end of 2012 a very talented author friend convinced Alison to go back to writing and see what happens. So she did and fell back in love with it. Present Perfect will be Alison's first self-published book. A few personal facts, Alison loves anything sweet, especially frosting, and is addicted to Diet Pepsi. Alison's philosophy: Don't let your obstacles define you. At times life can get pretty overwhelming, but with a great support system and a lot of humor you can get through them. If you have humor in your life your spirit stays strong and you can tackle anything.

I Love Story Time Review!

5 stars! First and foremost, I would like to say that I am honored to have been sent an ARC from the amazingly talented Allison Bailey. I absolutely LOVED Present Perfect so I was thrilled and could not wait to read Brad’s story. I am here to tell you that Past Imperfect did NOT disappoint! I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to become emotionally invested in Brad, the smurffucker that he was, but he immediately won over my heart! In Present Perfect, we got a glimpse of Brad and his naughty ways but not of whom he really was or of what drove him to do the things that he did. In Past Imperfect, we see the emotional side of Brad. The Brad that longed to be wanted, loved, and respected. His story will break your heart and cause you to step back and see him in a whole new light.

Brad’s journey begins with him at dinner with Mabry, a colleague at his father’s law firm. The only woman who has ever affected him; the only woman that can see who he really is and the only woman he has ever wanted. But Mabry has demons of her own. After a tragic event that took place as a child, Mabry is emotionally damaged and is unable to give her heart to Brad. As the author takes you from past to present, you get to see what events have shaped the people that Brad and Mabry have become and what brings them to their breaking point.
This book had it all for me. Brad was definitely swoon worthy! His love for Mabry was unwavering. Even when Mabry gave up on their love and tried to push Brad away, he never let her go.

“I don’t know what the future holds. All I know is that I need you in mine. I want to take care of you. I want to cheer you on. I want to protect you and catch you if you fall. I’ll be the best man you have ever had in your life, if you’ll just take a chance on me. I promise to be careful with your heart.” ~Brad

I make a vow right then to myself that I would spend the rest of my life making sure the sadness doesn’t return. She’s taken over every part of me, my heart, my mind, my soul, and my body. ~Brad

I loved Brad’s personality! He was cocky, alpha, and witty…everything I love in a male lead. There were so many times I laughed out loud because of his sexually charged sense of humor. There is nothing sexier than a man who has a way with words! I also loved the references to Fifty Shades of Grey, Kellan Kyle from the Thoughtless Trilogy and of course my personal favorite, Jax Teller from Sons of Anarchy!

Was it hot? YES, it was! And so was Brad!

My gaze scanned every deep indention, smooth slope, and defined curve of his muscles. His arms and chest looked strong and solid, but also warm and protective. ~Mabry”

“I want to lick, suck, and fuck every part of you all at the same time.” ~Brad

I really enjoyed reading this book. The epilogue was endearing and hilarious! Past Imperfect had a different feel to it than Present Perfect (a 5 star read by the way!) but it met all of my expectations. It was edgier, dark and some parts were hard to read because the scenes were so foreign to me. Allison Bailey once again delivered another amazing, emotional story and I cannot wait to read whatever she writes next!

“If I had known you were going to be in my future, I would have been a better man in my past.” ~Brad
