4 Stars!!

This was a really cute love story. I really enjoyed the characters. This is book 1 in the series so I am looking forward to each couples unique story.

Carter.....well, lets just say, if only all professors were as hot as him! He was the all consuming, sweet, good boy, with the heart of gold. He fell in love with Elly the minute he laid his eyes on her when they were in college. Elly.... she's a sweet girl, that is shy and keeps to herself. She's the girl that didn't worry about what she wore or how she looked. When Carter first sees her she is wearing work out clothes with Nikes and her hair in a bun, with no makeup. Yet, she is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. Soon after meeting, they become best friends. Too scared the loose each other as friends, they hold back their romantic feelings that they both feel towards one another. Then after college, Carter has to go home to help with the family business, causing him to loose contact with Elly.

Years later Carter is back in New York and happens to run into Elly. The minute they see each other the feelings that they have been holding back for years, rush to the surface, and sparks immediately fly. Now that they are older and know how it is to be away from each other, they hold nothing back.

Their relationship soon goes from best friends to lovers and they can't keep their hands off each other. I thought it was pretty funny when their friends place bets on when they will first sleep together!

Carter and Elly's relationship is really cute. I loved how you can tell how much Carter loves Elly. The way he treats her and the things he does for her are the sweetest things. At one point, he even stands up to his family in her honor, which just made me want him more! Carter's sisters are sweet and funny too. They are immediately friendly with her and treat her as part of the family. I loved the reaction that Elly got when Carter tells her who his sister is...right before taking her to meet her for the first time. She flips out and can't believe he is just now telling her. Then right away she starts texting her friend Paige to come over and help her figure out something to wear... Paige's response was priceless...

Paige: OMG!!! I'll be right over ...... to kill him!!!

Another thing I like about this book is the mention of movies and the roll playing they do. I liked that the nicknames they had for some of the friends were from movies...like Maverick and Goose, or that Paige would call Carter... June. Then of course, I can't leave out Carter and Elly referring to themselves as Sylvia and Mickey from Dirty Dancing. The whole scene made me laugh so much, it was too cute.

This story not only had me laughing at times, but it also made me shed some tears. I felt sad for Elly and the fears that she went through. The letter at the end also made me cry. So, plan to have a little tissue handy! If your looking for a nice and sweet friends to lovers read with some heart warming moments ,then this is the book for you. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading more about the characters that were introduced in this story.
