Some people stay with you. Sometimes love won’t let go. Some marks on the heart cannot be erased.
When Owen walked away from Ally he thought he was doing what was best for her. That’s what he told himself. It was a decision that he regretted instantly. Now, he has to figure out how too change his ways and win her back. This will be the hardest fight of his life. But she is worth it. She is everything.
Ally isn’t the same girl that Owen left six months ago. She shut down. It was survival. She can’t go back. She can’t let him back in. Losing him was too hard to go through the first time. But he keeps showing up, saying all the right words, doing all the right things. Will she be able to resist him? Can a person really change? Is he worth the risk to find out?

I didn't think I could love Owen more than I did after reading book 1, but I was so wrong! Yes, he made mistakes, but who doesn't? Owen and Ally's relationship continues to be one I will remember. This story is definitely one that will stay with you! I loved that Owen was willing to give his all to get Ally back. When Owen runs into Ally after not seeing her for 6 months, he didn't think twice about her dating someone else. Let me just say, I felt so bad for William. William was so into Ally and he knew that she had a history that kept her walls up. He wanted to be the one to break down those walls and show her there was still hope for love. But when he saw the way Ally looked at Owen, when they crossed paths unexpectedly, he knew he never stood a chance.....

"I knew it last night. I knew the moment that I saw you look at him. I've never seen you that way. I shouldn't have pushed you tonight. I wanted you to look at me that way. With fire in you eyes. I wanted to be the one to heal you and make you forget him. But it's not going to happen. No matter how long I wait. You still belong to him."

"I wish it were me. I wish I was the one who made you feel so deeply."

Tears were just falling down my face at his words. UGH.... he seriously was such a good man and I can tell that he really wanted more with Ally. I'm hoping we get a book or something about him in the future! I would love to read a story about him getting his happily ever after! Unfortunately for him, he found someone who's heart already belonged to someone else.

Ally knows deep down that she still loves Owen and that she never stopped. Even though she tries to stay away from Owen, knowing that it's not safe for her heart, she can't help but be drawn to him. Ally is constantly at a battle with her emotions regarding Owen. She doesn't know what she should do when it comes to their relationship. I love that even though Owen and Ally's relationship stopped, Ally still was close to his Grams and their relationship continued. I loved the talks they would have, and the love that Grams continued to show Ally.....

"I'm sorry that you had to go through that pain. Getting over love like that is hard, if not impossible. It marks you. An indelible mark that cannot be erases. It shapes who you are from that moment forward."

Grams not only was there for Ally, but she was also there for her grandson, Owen. She gave him the best kind of advice when he asked for it.....

"How do I do that? How do it get her back?"

"One day at a time. You make new memories. You show her that you've changed. You show her your heart until she can find a way to see it. You have to knock down the walls. But you can't do it al at once. You push too fast and she's going to scramble to put them right back up. She'll panic because she thinks she needs them. But you take the time and you take it down one brick at a time and soon she'll be standing there free without ever having realized that she let it go. One brick at a time, honey. You can't go back at what you had. That part of your story is over. You have to start new. Let her get to know you again, as you are now. Show her what you've learned. Let her find a way to believe it."

I loved Grams!! She had words of wisdom for everyone!

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the relationship between all the characters. The talks that Ally had with her best friend, Cassie, were great. They had many heart to heart's but also ones that made me laugh out loud. I'm wondering if we will be reading a story about her and Cooper??? I think that would be fun!! I can't wait to see what happens next! Looking forward to reading more from Shae Scott!!!

Sometimes life begins with a second chance.
On graduation night, Ally Montgomery walked away from her best friend, Owen. One night changed them forever. One night, one decision to cross the line of friendship, one decision to walk away.
She never forgot him.
Ten years later, Owen finds her.
And this time, they're not letting anything go unfinished.

"You already know me better than anyone else. The way I see it, that's really just the beginning."

Let's start with this...I am so happy that the prologue was relating to the past. I can not stand when stories start with a prologue and it's related to something that is going to take place later in the story. I feel that by doing that, the author is giving away major parts of the storyline! The last story I read was like that, and it basically took away a major moment. So...thank you Shae Scott for using the prologue the way I think it should be! With that being said, I was already hooked by reading the prologue. I also liked that the areas that were written in Owens P.O.V showed us his thoughts and flashbacks from the past. Reading about how Owen and Ally's friendship started, was nice and made me fall in love with Owen. He was so sweet to her and hearing how much he really cared for her while they were in high school, was really cute.

Owen and Ally's relationship stopped after one night when the lines in their friendship were crossed. Ally gets scared and leaves for college without even saying goodbye to Owen. Now...years later, they find each other through a social network and become friends again. They begin to have a friendship and soon find themselves right back where they left off. Their relationship is really comfortable and things tend to lead them to the next level. However, Owen has been keeping a secret from the beginning and finally lets Ally know. At first Ally isn't sure what to do. She knows that she can't let him go, so she agrees to move forward and deal with the circumstances with Owen and his job.

Ally and Owen were cute together. I was able to connect with their relationship and I can see the connection they had with each other. I loved seeing Owen open up and start to let his guard down around Ally. Growing up, he was always afraid that he was never good enough for her and felt that he would grow up to be just like his dad. So instead he worked hard, and was able to succeed in life through his work. Owens only downfall was that he put his work above everything else, including Ally. The ending was sad. I totally understood the decision that Ally had to make when it came to Owen. As for the epilogue, that's when I my eyes got blurry for the first time in this story, which in return, left me wanting more!
