Hurt Me by Jeri Williams ~ Release Blitz

Book: Hurt Me
Author: Jeri Williams
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Synopsis

Hurt Me the second book in the Me novel series that continues Deklan and Harley's journey from Breathe Me.
What happens when you wake up from the nightmare that you’ve been living? Do you start living a happy normal life, one that you’ve always dreamed of, or do you start a new nightmare?
Harley did it. She survived, thanks to Deklan, but now...she is left with hard truths and different emotions; what she thought was the end, was only the beginning. Harley has to navigate through these changes while deciding on who she is and where she fits in Deklan’s life because she is coming to learn that when someone saves you, even from yourself, you hero worship them. You hero worship them so much they become your everything. Their wants turn into your needs, their needs into your obsessions, their obsessions into your life. Finally you come to a point where this worshiping, this obsession, will either heal you or hurt you.
Will Harley be healed from her past or hurt by it?

5 stars!

Ugh....I'm so sad it's over! I love Deklan and Harley together. Even though they both have their issues and are learning to deal with them together, I really loved their story. I loved Deklan and I loved how rough around the edges he was. It really worked for his character and he knew exactly what Harley needed and how she needed it. When Deklan told Harley why he was so pissed, my heart broke for him...

“You know why I’ve been so pissed? Because when you tried to kill yourself, you didn’t just try and take away your pain, your suffering, which I fucking get, believe me. But what you don’t get is that you tried to take yourself away from me.”

That just made my eyes water all over again. Love was foreign to both of them. I feel that is what kept them going and what kept them from not giving up on each other. They needed each other and they both knew that. They were two broken souls that fit perfectly together.

"He’s got me and I’ve got him and together, we fit."

Author Bio
Jeri Williams lives a super fabulous lifestyle (by fabulous, she means kinda lame) in the hot Florida sun and loves reading of any kind (except instruction manuals and cereal boxes). She has always written stories and made her family listen to them since she was young, although this is her first book she has ever published. She is a mom of an up-and-coming Jerry Seinfeld (in girl form) and also enjoys being right and knowing everything, although she is hardly ever right and really doesn't know anything and is obsessed with inventing miniature zoo animals you can carry around in your pocket (although not really).

I don’t know how to do this. I don’t know how to fit, how to love. I’m going to go with you and think that you don’t want me, that I’m not enough for you, that I’m a fuckup and how much my mother was right. I’m going to cling to you and push you away because I hate myself and I don’t even know who I am. But most of all, I’m going to need you to want me, to love me, especially when I don’t love myself. Can you promise me that? I just need someone to love me.”

Wow. I just finished Breathe Me and I have tears running down my cheeks and my heart is once again breaking for Harley. The life she was given is no life at all. I can't imagine the pain and suffering she has had to live with. What a monster that raised her. Unfortunately, things like this happen in real life, not just in books, and that breaks my heart for everyone that has to live this kind of lifestyle. Although Deklan is a bit rough around the edges, I am so glad Harley met someone like him and that he is willing to be there for her. The connection they share is there for a reason, and I can't wait to see where their bond will take them next! If you liked the Breathing Series by Rebecca Donovan, then you should pick up a copy of this! It will have you reaching for book 2 just like me!
