EXCERPT 1

The moment I saw him walk into my English class, I had to catch my breath. That was twice now that I’d seen him. He was breathtakingly handsome. His dark hair made his eyes pop all the way from across the room. All of the girls immediately started whispering, praying he would noticeone of them.
I sat in the back right corner, as far away from everyone as I could. There was no chance of him seeing me.
Then, our eyes met. I instantly felt my cheeks blush, like earlier when he’d smiled at me in the office. I wasn’t so sure if he was looking my way or not now.
Is he smiling at Jenny or at me?
Jenny was a beautiful blonde-haired, blue-eyed cheerleader. She could pretty much just look at a guy, and he would fall for her.
Mrs. Hathaway grinned at him and then told him to pick a seat. He turned and looked directly at me again. My heart started pounding so loud that I was sure everyone in the classroom could hear it.
“I heard he moved here from New Mexico. He wanted to play football for a Texas high school, so a college would notice him,” Jenny said as she started to mess with her hair.
“What’s his name?” Beth asked.
Jenny shrugged her shoulders. “Who cares? Look at that body. My God, they make them good in New Mexico.” Shejumped up and moved over a seat right before he got to her table.
For some reason, my heart was breaking. How stupid of me to think he would notice me. Even if he did, everyone would tell him to stay away from me.
He passed by Jenny’s tablewalked right up to mine, and smiled.
Oh. My. God.
“Hey, I’m Wyatt. Mind if I sit here with you?” he asked
That drop-dead gorgeous smile melted my heart.
I smiled. “No, not at all. It’s open.”
He sat down, and I glanced over toward Jenny and her posse. If looks could kill, I’d be on the floor right now.

Excerpt 2

After practice, I looked up and saw Skylar in the bleachers. She was sitting on the opposite side of the field from everyone else, and I immediately knew why. Jenny would agitate her if she’d sat on the home side.
Running over, I took off my helmet, and Skylar walked down to the field.
“Hey,” she said with the cutest damn smile.
God, the things this girl does to my heart.
“Hey back atcha.”
“Smith! Get in the shower now!” Coach yelled out.
Skylar looked at Coach and scrunched up her face. “I didn’t get you in trouble, did I?”
Laughing, I said, “Nah. Besides, seeing your beautiful smile is worth it.”
Her eyes lit up, and my stomach felt like I was on a damn roller coaster.
“I have tonight off work, she said.
My heart started beating faster, and it wasn’t from all the running I had just done in practice. “Oh, yeah?”
“I was wondering if you mightlike to go to a movie? I mean, it would be a double date cause Mitch and Michelle would be there.”
I wiggled my eyebrows. “A date, huh?”
“A double date,” she replied with a chuckle.
“Smith! Less than thirty seconds to get your ass moving and into the shower!”
Skylar glanced over to Coach again and then back to me. She jutted her lip out into a pout and said, “You’d better go before you get in trouble.”
My heart stopped as my eyes fell to those lips. I was falling hard for Skylar, harder than I’d ever dreamed I could.
I started to run backward. Winking, I said, “Count me in!”

5 Stars!

Oh man... really? Watch out for the cliffhanger at the end because it totally just left me yelling at my kindle! I can't believe it, and I don't want to believe it! There is no way my all consuming, heart warming, smile splitting, hot as heck Wyatt could do such a thing. Man... I fell in love with him, and I hope to still be in love with him after I get my needy hands on book 2. Hmm... I wonder how long I have to wait? As you can tell, I really liked this story. It started off in high school and ended in college. It's crazy to think how mean girls can be in high school. It really makes me happy I don't have any! My heart broke for Skyler and everything that she endured during her senior year. The filth she had to deal with was so sad. I'm so happy that Wyatt came around and was able to bring her happiness and tear down her walls. Seeing Skyler let loose for once and enjoying life again was nice. When the song Beautiful came on, at that special moment, it was perfect! So perfect it brought tears to my eyes. Every time I hear that song now, I'm going to be thinking of this book! I also loved her best friend Michelle who was her brother's girlfriend.. Their conversations always had me cracking up. Especially when Michelle would tell her about her sex life! Skyler was constantly gagging, and I was constantly laughing! Skyler's mom also had some funny comments that got my smiling! I am looking forward to reading book 2 because I am dying to know what is going to happen with all the characters! I have to admit, I'm a little nervous, but sooo excited at the same time!
