The Debt by Karina Halle: Review by Lys

The DebtThe Debt by Karina Halle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Karina Halle tugged at my heart with this one. With the current events taking place in our country and the uprising of demons that our men and women of armed forces face when they get home, this was an emotional read. There was so much pain in this story. From the very beginning, my heart broke for this couple. Keir and Jessica had so much to overcome. Secrets that no one should have to keep; inner struggles that felt like weighted feet. Despite the darkness that continued to try to pull them down... with love, understanding, and forgiveness, Keir and Jessica, found a safe place within each other. Together, they fought for what they truly needed... atonement. Karina Halle wrote a beautiful story about the beauty of acceptance and forgiveness. Accepting the life we have been given, the cards that we have been dealt, and most importantly, about forgiving ourselves and finding our inner strength to rise above it all.
