I enjoyed this book. I have been looking forward to reading Blake and Tess's story so when I got offered the ARC, I was excited. Blake is one hot, cocky fire-fighter that has a temper that is sexy as hell. With one remark he can go from "loving Blake" to "I'm going to beat your ass, Blake." What a turn on!!! Blake and Tess have been friends for years. They also have had feelings for each other, but never let the other one know. Blake's past is constantly haunting him, leading him to believe that he doesn't deserve anything in his life, and that he isn't good enough for Tess. Tess try's to tell him that he is everything she needs.....

Tess doesn't know much about the way that Blake and his brother Devin were raised so she takes it personally when she notices that Blake starts to pull away from her. There's a lot of things that get in the way of Blake's and Tess's relationship that they have to work through. One being Tess's ex-boyfriend Jarred. Jarred won't give up on Tess no matter how many times she tells him they are over, he doesn't let go very easily.

One thing I did love about Blake was his sexy mouth! He was a good dirty talker! The way he talked to Tess was hot. He told her just how good she made him feel when ever they were together, and would say things that would make you suck in a breath. Plus with that "V" line on his body he was beyond sexy ....... Yum!!



I ran my eyes down his defined chest and abs until they came to a halt at his deep "V'.

"Do you like my funk lines, baby girl?" Do they make you want to fuck me?"

"Yes." I panted.

"Then they are doing their job," he smirked.


This book had the hotness, the loving, and some suspense and drama all mixed into it. It gives a little of everything. Loved the epilogue. It was cute and it was nice to know how things ended. I am looking forward to reading Book 2 and to see what is going to happen with Cam and Cara!
