The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend--smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done. Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant. Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy. Oops. My mistake. Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology. I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right? That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning. Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant. I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking. Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West. This was going to be interesting…

No pre-order is available for Amazon, B&N, Kobo, Google Play (ebook)

WHEN IT'S REAL by Erin Watt: Review by Lys

When It's RealWhen It's Real by Erin Watt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG you guys! The feels! Erin Watt has written a sweet story about a lonely boy and an ordinary girl that you are going to fall in love with. I adored Oakley and Vaughn! She gave him everything he never had. He showed her how to follow her dreams. Squee! Just thinking of them makes me smile! When It's Real was sooo good! I loved the connection between Oakley and Vaughn and how much they grew as a couple throughout their journey. Though it is such a completely different story, they reminded me of Kiera and Kellan from Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens! Maybe it was the whole sensitive, sexy, rock star meets an innocent, smart, girl-next-door that did it or maybe it was the undeniable chemistry between Oakley and Vaughn. Whatever the similarities, I LOVED it! The twitter feeds were super fun and original and brought a little something extra to the story. Seriously, you guys have to read this! First The Royals Series and now this? Erin Watt is definitely an I Love Story Time favorite!

“Gem,” I call but not too loud and knock her window glass again.
Coming here was a hard ascent. Though it’s not too high, climbing pipes was never my forte and this was the first time I tried it. Currently I am on her window aisle, shivering in the cold, waiting for her to open the damn window. I can squeeze in easily. Or I can just call her, but it won’t be that fun.
“Gem,” I call again. I finally here scrambling footsteps approaching the window sill.
“Brandon?” she calls out, sliding the window open.
“Hey,” I wave and she stumbles back letting out a chuckle. “It’s really you. I thought I was dreaming!”
“Nice to hear I visit you in your dreams as well,” I wink and her cheeks turn red. I am always rewarded with her blush when I catch her unguarded like this.
She crosses her arms across her chest and puffs. I can’t help but notice her chest rising higher, together with her boobs. The grey satin night gown she dons is a treat to my eyes. It reaches just up to her mid-thighs with the netted-coat draping on either sides, but it still gives a good view of her long naked legs that I had missed out in her party gown.
“What do I actually do in these dreams of yours?” I ask, propping my elbows on the window sill.
“I’m sure you’ll be more than happy to do the same if I let you in,” She tells boldly, leaning forward.
So I suppose I was right in guessing she has dirty dreams about me. I am one lucky guy.
“That’s exactly what I had in mind. I’ll take you up on your offer. Demonstration is more gratifying, right?”
She looks at me mortified, but steps away to let me enter. I hop into her room and inhale the scent which smells solely and exclusively of Gem.
“Sorry, but unfortunately I don’t keep condoms in my room. I hope you have come prepared,” she tells with her back to me.
She has got to be fucking kidding me. When Gem resorts to flirting there is no stopping her.
“I don’t mind fathering your kids. In fact it would be my pleasure, especially if they go after you in looks and brains. I would be a proud dad.”
Do I mean it? I do, I think. That family picture looks perfect.
She gasps and turns to me with wide eyes. I am not sure if she is shocked or amazed. Her mouth tics up and I get my answer. She is definitely happy.
“I would want them to have your hair. I love the color.”
Gem always has a problem with her hair color. She has dark brown hair which is a good contrast to her fair skin tone, but she wanted a lighter color. But I am against her dying it.
I rub my chin in speculation. “If you say so…but I do like your hair.”
“And hazel eyes,” she continues stepping forward. “Your eyes are so beautiful.”
“No,” I argue. “Your eyes are enchanting. Definitely emerald green.”
“Hazel,” she steps closer.
“No. Green,” I refute, covering the gap.
When she is just an inch away she mutters, “Let’s just have twins. One with green eyes and blonde hair and the other with hazel eyes and brown hair. Perfect combination of both?”
“Awesome idea.” I clasp both her hands. “For that to happen, don’t you suppose we should get down to some action?”
She looks deeps into my eyes, her face basking in the glow of the two bedside lamps.
“You’re not serious,” she says softly.
“You want me to be?” I ask, pushing her back towards her bed.
Uncertainty flickers in her eyes before she slowly shakes her head. “No.”
If she had said yes, I would have definitely taken her up on her offer this time and would not even hold back. Her answer is a sad no and I should just suck it.
“What’re you doing here, again?” All I see in her eyes is twirling confusion. She wants me, but she doesn’t want to want me. Maybe she is annoyed at herself for wanting this. Either way it’s funny.
“Well, the night is not over yet. And I want to make the best of the hours left.”
“How do you plan on doing that?” Now she wants me to want what she wants but can’t admit to.
“By sleeping with you,” I whisper huskily in her ears.
Her throat bobs and her lips part. “Show me how.”
Smart girl. She’s leaving the choice to me.
I hop onto her bed and settle comfortably on her bedspread. I stretch my arm on her pillow and raise my brows at her. “My hand will be your pillow for the night. Once in a lifetime opportunity. Don’t miss it.”
Her face glows with pure happiness this time and she follows suit, and lands on her back with her head on my arms and her body curved towards mine.
“This is a good idea.” She bites her plump lips. “What brought this on?”
“I should have done this the last time I had got such a chance. But I fucked up, and now I want to correct my fault.”
“You’re doing it just for me?” Her doubt lingers in her tone.
“It’s never just for you, Gem. It’s as much for me as its for you. I need this. I need the proximity. I need you.”
“Me too.” Her hands rest on my chest while my other arm curves around her waist. “If dad finds out he’ll kick us out of the house.”
“I will leave by then,” I assure. “Will use the same route.”
She chuckles but doesn’t object.
“There is one slight problem, though.”
“What?” she jerks her head up and looks down on me.
“You will wake up to my boner. You can’t complain about it.”
She snorts and falls back on my arm. “I would be disappointed if you didn’t have one. I would think that I am losing my effect on you.”
That’s my Girl. Always frank. My Girl. I love the sound of that. Will make her mine…One fine day.

4 Stars!

This is the 5th time that I've started writing this review. I seriously just don't know how I feel about Feeble Connection. I'm sure I'm not the only one that will be left with such jumbled emotions after reading this. Even though this is the pre-quel to Love Connection and it is being released AFTER book one, I'm so glad that I was able to start the series with this book first! Now when I start Love Connection, I feel like I'll have a better understanding and a better connection with the characters since I'll have full knowledge of their backgrounds. Even though I have mixed feelings about this story, I'm giving it 4 stars because if something can leave me this unsettled and still have me wanting to dive right into the next book, it deserves no less than 4 stars! Plus, Brandon is definitely the cherry on top! Talk about a walking contradiction that has you swooning and rooting for him! I loved him! He brought many smiles to my face and probably just as many hot flashes! Mr. Playboy is the perfect name for him! I can't wait to see what dirtiness is going to come from his mouth next time around!

LP Lovell

Lauren Lovell is an indie author from England.

She suffers from a total lack of brain to mouth filter and is the friend you have to explain before you introduce her to anyone, and apologise for afterwards.

Lauren is a self-confessed shameless pervert, who may be suffering from slight peen envy.

LP loves to hear from readers so please get in touch.

Stevie J. Cole

Stevie J. Cole lives deep in the woods of Alabama with her husband and two precious daughters. She studied Epidemiology concentrating on cancer research but has always had a passion for writing. Some of her stories will strip you bare, some will give you nightmares, but the one thing she can promise is that she will always give you stories that make you feel.

Raw. Gritty. Love.
Because sometimes characters need to be flawed.

P.S. Stevie's greatest fear is the impending zombie apocalypse. Think about it: swarming armies of decaying, oozing corpses stumbling around with clicking teeth, trying to eat your face. Nothing about that is good. NOTHING!

Cheater’s Regret, an all-new sexy standalone from #1 New York Times Bestseller Rachel Van Dyken is available now on Amazon & Free in Kindle Unlimited!!

VanDyken-CheatersRegret-23431-CV-FT-v4A

Cheater’s Regret by Rachel Van Dyken Release Date: May 23rd

Genre: Contemporary Romance

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken returns with a smoking-hot story about the satisfaction of plotting revenge on your ex—until he turns your world upside down again.
Austin Rogers’s dreams of domestic bliss involved watching Netflix and eating hot dogs with the love of her life. But then he cheated on her. And dumped her—as if the whole thing was her fault. To maintain her pride and restore her sanity, she decides to get revenge. It feels immensely satisfying to plot her ex’s downfall—but so does kissing him.
Thatch Holloway, a plastic surgeon straight out of residency, knows he ruined the best thing that ever happened to him. But not all cheaters are created equal. He got himself into this messed-up situation—true—but he has his reasons for what happened, and he’d do it all again to protect Austin.
He’s not over her. And she’s not over him.
Austin wants closure, but since Thatch refuses to give it to her, she takes matters into her own hands. She needs to write a human-interest piece for her MBA, so she demands the full plastic-surgery experience. Sparks fly as they’re forced to work together. But Thatch isn’t afraid to play dirty in return. And he’s still hiding something—something that has the power to destroy not only Austin but their second chance at finding forever…

Excerpt:

“You want to do this right now?” He was still whispering as he slowly extended his large perfect surgeon’s hands out to the spider, and suddenly, I realized how this would end. The spider would bite him. Thatch’s bite would get infected. And he wouldn’t be able to do his job. Or pay off his student loans. Leaving him in debt. On the street. Naked. Dead. Thatch was going to die. “Wait!” I slowly lowered my body to the floor. Fear pounded in my ears as I held out my hands and Charlie lumbered onto my palms. It tickled. It would be nice if I weren’t so terrified of spiders. Shaking, I walked over to the bucket and gently set him inside, this time, right side up so Thatch could transport him later. Just as I pulled my hands away, something sharp dug into my skin. “Mother fu—” Thatch grabbed me just before I collapsed against the floor, hands shaking and pain searing through my right thumb. Before I knew what was happening, Thatch was carrying me over to the couch. Soft pillows met my back as he grabbed my thumb and held it close to his face. “Am I going to die?” I whimpered. “Because the Discovery Channel [PS1] said tarantula bites feel like bee stings—they’re liars from the pit of hell!” Thatch narrowed his eyes at the puffy red mark and then slowly dropped my hand to my side. “You’ll live.” “Well, that’s encouraging. Don’t I at least get a sticker? A sucker? For saving your life?” “You?” He chuckled and joined me on the couch. “Saved my life by getting bit by a tarantula?” “Keep up!” Talking was at least distracting me from the throbbing pain. At least it had dulled a bit, though the fact that I had spider venom in my hand made me cringe. “If it bit you, you wouldn’t be able to do your job.” He seemed thoughtful. “You mean I’d finally get a vacation where I’m allowed to sleep for longer than three hours?” “Well, when you put it that way,” I grumbled, and tried to cross my arm, then hissed as pain exploded down my hand. He grabbed it again. “At least the venom is weak, it’s really just the puncture wound from the spider’s fangs that causes the swelling.” “Well, that’s disappointing on so many levels. I save your life and I don’t even get to turn into Spider-Man.” “Tough luck, maybe next time.” He winked. It was nice. Sitting with him on the couch. My legs on his lap. My eyes focused on his mouth. Abort! Abort! I quickly looked away but not fast enough—he caught me staring where I shouldn’t have been staring, and I felt like a complete loser for still lusting after him the way I was. What was it about Thatch? Other than everything? He was brilliant. Hardworking. Gorgeous. And he fought spiders on behalf of a girl he’d dumped. Damn it. “This leads nowhere,” he said in a hollow voice. “You understand that, right?” It was like he’d just handed me the world’s happiest balloon and then popped it with a giant needle. I was utterly defeated and deflated. Even though I knew going into this there was no hope of us getting back together, I’d officially turned into that sad, pathetic clinger. I’d always made fun of “those girls.” And now “that girl” stared back at me in my own stupid mirror. I let out a long sigh and nodded slowly. “This is strictly business, Thatch. You know how important this class is to me, how important getting my MBA is to me.” He looked away, his jaw clenched. “Parents still MIA for the most part?” I nodded. “And the reelection, I imagine your dad wants you to join his mayoral campaign again?” A sick feeling grew in the pit of my stomach. To my parents, I was a trophy. Something shiny and pretty they could trot out to gain votes from families who appreciated their having taken time out of their busy lives to sire a child. Granted, I knew my parents loved me. They just loved me in their own way—the only way they knew how. “I have to graduate,” I stressed again. “The job market’s fierce out there, and an MBA will help with that. The sooner I graduate, the sooner I can start my own life away from all of this.” I lifted my hands into the air. This just happened to be a mansion. A huge mansion. With three interconnected swimming pools. A tennis court. Two movie rooms. And a bowling alley. I think I’d prefer anything but this. If I could choose to live in a dump with my parents and we’d be a family or I could have a mansion and scarcely see them. I’d choose the dump every time. “I’ll do my best to help you.” He lifted my legs off his lap. “But first, we ride.” I blushed. I couldn’t help it. “You can’t do that anymore,” he whispered, his blue eyes piercing. “You can’t blush when I say things like that.” “Sorry.” He muttered a curse and walked away. I could have sworn he adjusted himself near the door, but I was too busy hiding behind the couch to fully commit to ogling him. “Where’s your bike?” he called over his shoulder before turning around. “In the garage. It’s kind of dark now, though, let’s ride tomorrow after work.” I totally said it without stuttering or blushing. “Fine.” He looked exhausted. “Don’t forget the spider.” I pointed at the bucket. “And don’t let it loose in nature. We can’t have that bastard procreating with another, smaller spider and creating zombie spider babies that take over the world.” He just stared at me like I’d lost my mind. And then shook his head as a smile played across his face. “You’re entertaining, I’ll give you that.” “I’ll take that as a compliment, thank you.” “It was meant to be one.” We froze, both of us smiling at each other. “Sleep,” I whispered. “You’ve got a busy day tomorrow.” “Yup.” He gripped the bucket in one hand; the muscles in his forearm flexed. “Take some ibuprofen and ice the spider bite. If you feel any muscle weakness or tightness in your chest, let me know and I’ll prescribe you something.” “Ah, the power of the pen.” He rolled his eyes and waved with his free hand. “See you tomorrow morning at eight, Austin.” He hesitated in the doorway. “Be sure to wear something work-appropriate.” “Oh, so you want me to wear a bike uniform?” He flipped me off and quietly shut the door against my laughter.

Haha! I really enjoyed Thatch and Austin's story! These two were something else. They had me laughing out loud one moment and fanning myself the next. Between their silly revenge antics and the angst between them, I was all over the place with my emotions. Rachel Van Dyken is brilliant at writing romantic comedies and this one delivered exactly what I needed. Cheater's Regret is a light and funny, slightly emotional story. The quintessential summer read!
