***Release Blitz!*** RESENTMENT by Nicole London

Title: Resentment
Author: Nicole London
Genre: Contemporary Romance
 Release Date: October 29, 2015

Blurb

Re•sent•ment (noun)

The act of hating – no, fucking loathing Dean Collins. (Yes, I’m well aware that’s not the actual definition, but it might as well be...)

It’s been ten years since we've seen each other and the feelings are still as strong.

I’m not going to bore you with all the details of how our love was once intoxicating, consuming, and perfect.

Because it was . . . until it wasn't.

I've been fine without him. I haven’t missed his cruelty, his coldness and his spite.

And after the ugliest breakup in the history of breakups, I forced myself to move on.

Year by year, the feelings I had for him slowly drifted away, but one encounter with him recently changed everything. One encounter made me realize how the heart doesn't forget shit, and how my mind is going to have to work overtime to make sure I never forget my definition of resentment.

Excerpt

“Are you coming to the pep rally tonight?” he asks.

“Probably not.”

“Why?”

“School spirit isn’t really my thing. No offense, but…football isn’t either.”

He laughs, and I suddenly realize that the two of us have never talked about football during our sessions together. In fact, whenever I’ve brought it up, he’s changed the subject to something else.

“Well,” he says, letting my hand go. “You should come for me instead.”

“What? What do you mean?”

“I mean, since you’re not into school spirit or football, but you’re clearly into me, you can make an exception and come tonight.”

“You’re getting quite presumptuous lately.” I put on my best poker face. “Do I need to help you with that definition?”

“Not when I know the true word you’re looking for is cognizant.” He grins, stepping back. “I hope to see you tonight.”

“I’ll think about it.”

“I’m sure you always do.” He gives me a look so sexy that I almost melt into the floor.

Goddamn, Dean Collins…

Review by Lys

What an amazing debut novel by Nicole London! I absolutely LOVED it! I loved her writing style, the storyline, the characters, and especially the love hate relationship between Dean and Mia. I read this book in one sitting and went hours without food. Lol. I could not put it down! There were parts of Dean and Mia's journey that had my stomach in knots and my heart racing with anxiety. One scene in particular left me breathless! Resentment definitely gets my vote for the BEST angsty, cocky bastard, hot cop book EVER! If you are looking for a fantastic read with witty banter and smokin' hot chemistry, this book is for you. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Genre: Contemporary, Romantic Comedy

People say that sometimes the line between love and hate is thin. What they don’t tell you is that sometimes it’s invisible.
Rowan Locklaine gave his heart to one woman a long time ago and has no desire to go through that kind of torture ever again. His painful past has turned him cold and heartless. When the mouthy little blonde, Navie Collins, is hired as his personal assistant, he finds his world turned upside down. And against his better judgment, he can’t seem to stop thinking about her.
Navie Collins has spent years convinced she’s not good enough, that no one could possibly want her. Rowan and Navie are convinced they hate each other. But as time passes and the attraction between them begins to grow, these two stubborn, strong-willed people have a life changing decision to make. 4.5 Stars!

I am really LOVING Jessica Prince!! I have been reading this series from the beginning and I really have enjoyed ALL of them! I remember Navie from Shrinking Violet, and I'm really happy she got her own book. I liked her then, and I really enjoyed her character in Love Hate Relationship. I loved how feisty she was. I also loved how funny she was when she was drunk. I seriously could not stop laughing while reading the bar scene when ALL 3 girls were drunk and were kicked out of the bar! OMG! Just thinking about all those funny parts right now has me laughing all over again. I have the biggest smile on my face just typing this! LOL. Jessica, you definitely know how to make your readers laugh! You definitely know how to make your readers cry as well! The ending had tears running down my face. I felt so bad for Navie. The way she believed that she was never good enough broke my heart. As for Rowan, he was definitely Mr. Hot Stuff! I loved them together. The bickering they did back and forth had me cracking up! They were so quick with their replies. Two of my favorite parts was when Navie called in sick and Rowan went to check on her and Navie had morning breath...

“There, now you can see me. What do you want?”

“You don’t look sick.”

“And you don’t look like a doctor. Now, if you’ll kindly leave, I’m going back to bed.”

"I said get off!” I seethed. Then I blew in his face. It wasn’t the most mature thing in the world—to be honest, it was quite disgusting—but Rowan had a gift for bringing out the worst in me.
“Oh, dear Lord,” he choked as he jerked away. “That’s awful.”

The reason why I liked that part so much was because for once, an author wrote about BAD BREATH!!! There are so many morning scenes that I have read and never once is "morning breath" mentioned! I was beginning to think that I was the only one with morning breath!! LOL. I was also so excited to see that one of my favorite lines from Shrinking Violet made it in this story as well!

“You’re the best brother I never had,” I told him, using the words we’d made up for each other years ago to let him know exactly how much he meant to me.

“And you’re the best sister I never had"

Aww...I missed Carson! I'm so happy we got to hear from him in Navie's book. I loved him all over again! Navie's story was so good, and I can't wait for the next book to come out in this series!

It was official.
hated my job.
By the time the subway pulled into the station closest to my house, I was a sweaty, disgusting mess. My hair had fallen out of its artfully styled chignon. My feet had blisters the size of pancakes from traipsing all around the city in the sweltering summer heat. Harlow’s pretty blouse had a coffee stain across the right boob where I’d tripped and spilled Rowan’s coffee down the front of myself—meaning I had to go back and wait in the long ass line at The Bean a second time. And I was pretty sure a panhandler shoved his hand up my skirt on the subway ride home. The whipped, puss-y topping on the shit sundae that was my day were the million and one text messages I received from Rowan needing me to run yet another errand.
None of those messages were of him asking. Oh, no, they were rude and demanding in nature, and I had to stop myself on multiple occasions from hurling my beloved iPhone into oncoming traffic.
By the time I made it back to his apartment with all his requested items, the coffee had long since grown cold, mimicking his icy attitude.
As I limped up the steps to mine and Harlow’s apartment, I kept thinking of all the reasons I wanted to quit, following closely with all the reasons I couldn’t, i.e. my rent and other such necessities.
“Hello, pumpkin. How was your first day?” Harlow asked in an all too chipper voice once I came through the front door.
“I hate my boss!” I yelled like a crazy person before collapsing to the floor and spreading out on the cool, laminate wood, basking in the feel of it against my overly heated skin.
“What the hell? What happened?” Harlow asked as she took a seat on the floor next to me, brushing my sweat-slicked hair back from my face.
“You mean other than working for a twat-waffle who’s the love child of Satan and that ‘Mommy Dearest’ lady?”
“You mean Joan Crawford?”
“That’s the one.”
“Was he really that bad?”
“Remember that asshole William Chandler from sophomore year?”
Her face scrunched up as she tried to recall who I was talking about. “You mean that dickhead football player, who used to bark at all the girls he thought were ugly?”
“Yep.”
“Oh, shit. That bad?”
“Multiply that times a million and you’ll have Rowan Locklaine.”
Harlow’s gaze grew sympathetic. “Aww, sweetie, I’m so sorry.”
“And if that wasn’t bad enough, I’m pretty sure I lost my no-no hole virginity to a hobo on the subway.”
I was being completely serious. So when Harlow let out an indelicate snort and collapsed in a heap of hysterical laughter next to me, I couldn’t find it in me to share with her in the humor of the situation.
“I’m glad you find my pain so hilarious,” I deadpanned from my spread-eagle position on the floor of our entryway.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” she sputtered, tears trailing down her face. “I know it’s not supposed to be funny, but you should see your face right now!”
I was just about to respond with something brilliantly snarky when my cell phone rang from inside my purse. With a groan of pain, I twisted sideways and retrieved it before going back to my original position.
“Shit,” I muttered as I looked at the screen.
“Who is it? Is it him?”
“No, it’s Lauren. Probably calling to tell me I’ve been fired.”
Harlow whacked me on the shoulder, eliciting a pout from me. “Stop being so negative. Answer the phone and I’ll go pour you a glass of wine.”
“In the big glass?” I asked hopefully, referring to the wineglass-shaped vase we found on clearance a year or so ago. It was what we considered our ’emergency glass’.
“Yes, in the big glass, you big baby. Now, answer the damn phone already.”

Unspeakable Truths by Alice Tribue ~ Review by Juls

Unspeakable Truths (Unspeakable Truths, #1)Unspeakable Truths by Alice Montalvo-Tribue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*** I Love Story Time was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review ***

4.5 stars!

I understand now that the story hadn’t been completely written. Tyler was a beautiful and tragic chapter in my book, but Luca…Luca was the Happily Ever After.

When I first started Unspeakable Truths, I had a hard time getting into the storyline. I'm not sure if it was because it alternates between past and present or if I just wasn't connecting with the characters. However, as the story went on, I really did enjoy it. There wasn't a lot of Tyler's character in the story, so I was not able to connect with him; therefore I really didn't connect with the pain that Everly was dealing with when it came to her struggles with moving forward after his death. However, I was able to connect with Luca, and to be honest, he was a big part of why I liked this story so much! I really liked his character! I felt bad for him when I found out the truth about why he always treated Everly the way he did. I really wish that he wouldn't have given up so easily when it came to her in the beginning. But I do understand that it's not always the right "time" for two people to be together. I loved that Luca always pushed Everly to move forward. I believe that Luca truly helped Everly find the person she was meant to be. Their relationship was sweet, but also very hot! Luca was the alpha male Everly never knew she needed. The things that Luca would say had me wanting to listen to him...

“Good, I’m going to fuck the shit out of you. I’m not going to be gentle, and I’m not going to be slow, and if you’re lucky I’ll let you come. Then and only then will we talk about what happens next. Say okay Luca.”

Yup! I'm pretty sure I said.. Okay Luca, at the same time Everly did!! Lol. I also loved the playful side of Luca. He loved to joke and would always make me laugh...

“Oh. My. God,” I whisper as Luca silently laughs. “This isn’t funny,” I hiss, smacking him on his bare shoulder. “We just got caught by my mom having sex.”
“We weren’t having sex babe, I was playing with your pussy. There’s a difference.”

I busted up at that part because that response was so Luca. So literal! I loved it! In the end, I really did enjoy this story. The only reason that I didn't rate this story a 5 star is because I'm not a fan of alternating past/present storylines and I didn't cry. Other than those two things, I really enjoyed Unspeakable Truths and I would definitely recommend it to a fellow reader!

***Book Tour!*** THE FALL UP by Aly Martinez

the fall up book tour.jpg
the fall up live.png.
Maybe there’s only one direction to go when two people fall
in love at rock bottom—up.

NOW AVAILABLE!

the fall up cover ebook.jpg

I wanted to jump.
He made me fall.

As a celebrity, I lived in the public eye, but somewhere along the way, I’d lost myself in the spotlight.

Until he found me.

Sam Rivers was a gorgeous, tattooed stranger who saved my life with nothing more than a simple conversation.

But we were both standing on that bridge for a reason the night we met. The secrets of our pasts brought us together—and then tore us apart.

Could we find a reason to hold on as life constantly pulled us down?

Or maybe there’s only one direction to go when two people fall in love at rock bottom—up.

the fall up teaser 3.jpg

Excerpt One
“Thank fuck!” Sam said, swinging the door open before Devon even had the car in park.
“Oh, this isn’t my place. We’re just dropping Devon off. I’m about twenty minutes across town?”  I tossed him a sugary smile then boldly shifted my hand into his lap, purposely brushing the bulge under his denim.
Grabbing my wrist, he narrowed his eyes and called out, “Devon, I’m gonna need to borrow a bedroom.”
I burst out laughing as Devon cursed loudly.
“Fine. This is my place. No smoking inside though,” I snipped as I climbed from the SUV.
“You better have some seriously exciting extracurricular activities to keep me distracted, then.”
“I have Ping-Pong!”
“Not exactly what I was thinking.” He mischievously cocked his head. “But I guess paddles and balls are as good a start as any.” Dipping down, he hoisted me over his shoulder. “Point me to the Ping-Pong table, my lady.”
I didn’t. I laughed hysterically as he carried me inside. Then I directed him to my bedroom instead.
I heard Devon locking up the house as Sam deposited me on the bed.
“Jesus. This view.”  He pushed the curtains back. “Why the hell would you ever go up to the bridge when you have this here?”
“I don’t know,” I answered, pulling my earrings off and placing them on my nightstand.
Oh, but I knew. It might not have been what had originally sent me up that bridge, but it was why my feet carried me back every night. And that very reason was currently standing in front of me with entirely too much clothing on.
“You want a beer?” I asked, sliding my shoes off.
“Nah, I’m good.” He faced me, and I could tell something was off with his demeanor. He didn’t inch any closer. Instead, his lips were tight and his eyes uncomfortably flashed around the room.
It suddenly didn’t feel like Sam standing in front of me at all.
He felt like a stranger who had just come face-to-face with Levee Williams.
Damn it.
“Why are you looking at me like that? Are you about to freak out?” I whispered, nervously moistening my lips.
He shoved his hands into his pockets. “I’m not really sure yet. But I’m gonna need you to stop licking your lips long enough for me to figure it out.” His mouth cracked into a wide grin, and my shoulders relaxed.
Now that was a flash of my Sam.
“Want to tell me what’s going on?” I asked.
“It’s just… I think this is the first time I’ve realized that you’re some big-time celebrity. I might be in over my head here, Designer Shoes.”
“I just make music, Sam.” I returned his smile and very slowly prowled in his direction. “Imagine how I feel though. You’re Samuel Nathan Rivers. A tough, tattooed furniture designer who makes six figures a year but is too afraid to tell his mommy he votes democratic.” I giggled as he frowned humorously. Stopping in front of him, I dragged a fingernail down his chest then teased the waistband of his jeans. “Have you considered that maybe I’m the one who’s in over her head here?” I leaned forward to nip at his lips, but he spun us around.
“Excellent point. I’m going to need you to try really hard to keep it together, Levee. You haven’t even seen my six-pack and huge cock, yet.” He smirked and attempted to return my nip, but I stepped out of his reach.
“You brought beer and chicken?” I feigned excitement.
That one corny joke was all it took to bring my Sam back completely.
With a sexy smile and a coy shrug, he seductively backed me toward the bed. “What can I say? I like to be prepared.”
“Clearly,” I breathed.
He moved in close so his lips were only a centimeter away, but for as much as I wanted him, it was agonizing. “Clearly,” he repeated, his smoky yet sweet breath breezing across my mouth.
His strong arm looped around my waist, tugging me against his chest, while I stared into his hooded eyes, eagerly waiting for him to make a move.
Any move.
Every move.
the fall up teaser use.jpg

Excerpt Two
“You’re overdoing it, Lev. I know this job isn’t exactly nine-to-five, but it’s not twenty-four-seven, either. You have to stop being Levee Williams all the time and just be you.”
“I know,” I responded.
I didn’t though. I felt like a robot parading around in a lost woman’s body.
Smile.
Pose.
Turn.
Toss in the occasional song.
Repeat.
What little time I did manage to carve out for myself was spent at various children’s hospitals across the country.
Smile.
Pose.
Turn.
Watch a child die.
Repeat.
With every day that passed, the smile became less and less genuine, the pose more and more forced, and the turn took me further and further away from who I really was.
My career was soaring while, personally, I was plummeting. Every single day felt like a terrifying free fall in no particular direction. I was stuck in the middle with no way up—or down.
“You remember that girl, right?” Henry asked, tucking a hair behind my ear.
I nodded.
I did remember her. She was fun and carefree. She loved going out and dancing at nightclubs until the very last song played. She slept until noon if she could. Then, fueled by coffee alone, she’d spend the day with a guitar strapped around her neck and a notepad at her side. She had a huge heart, but she knew her limitations.
Oh, I remembered that girl. I just couldn’t figure out how to get back to her.

Review by Lys
Squee! I LOVED this book! I'm sitting here with a big silly grin on my face as I write this. I just don't know how she does it! Aly Martinez has yet again written such an amazing book. Her writing, her stories, her characters...they captivate you! They pull you into their world and take control of every emotion. You can't help but be consumed by her story and fall in love with her heroes. The Fall Up was a beautiful, witty read, and I enjoyed every single minute of it! I found myself rooting for Levee and falling for Sam. I just adored their personalities and the sweet and silly dialogue between them. There hasn't been a book that Aly has written that I haven't loved and The Fall Up is no exception. This is definitely a MUST read!
