OMG!!!! This book was seriously SO GOOD!! Pepper Winters, you are A-mazing! I was pulled into this book from the beginning! Who am I kidding??? I don't think I ever got "out" of book 1 in order to be pulled back in!! The ending of Indebted left me reeling, and the beginning of this book had me on the edge of my seat! I love that this continues exactly where Indebted ended. My heart started beating from chapter 1 and by 17% it was pounding out of my chest!

I love Nila!! I love that she is bad-ass and fights back, she gives as good as she gets! She is ruthless and will do what ever she has to do to get by...

"Despite my lack of skills and weapons, I wasn't ready to go down without a fight. In fact, I prospered into a woman I'd always been too afraid to find. I became more than Nila Weaver. More than daughter, twin sister, and seamstress. I became the women who would bring down a family's legacy. I evolved into the woman who captured a Hawk."

Then there's Jethro. I want to take my sledge hammer and break those ice cold walls that he holds up around himself. I am not sure if I want to slap him or kiss him! I love him but I hate him! Oh gosh, I just don't know what to do with him! LOL... In the beginning he was just a jackass! I know, I know, he was raised to be hard and not have a feeling in the world, but I just want him... the <,I>real him,to come out. I know its there, and I know he is fighting with all his might not to show his feelings but the minute he does I am going to lose it!

Nila and Jethro's relationship is like a cat and mouse chase! The back and forth between the both of them makes my heart quicken! Nila can't fight the way that her body reacts to Jethro, but she doesn't bow down to his every demand either. Every step of the way she fights Jethro. She is doing all that she can to get to him because slowly but surely, she is getting to him, causing his walls to finally fall down and lose himself in the mist of the moment...

"We're fucked, Nila Weaver. Well and truly fucked."

"You've destroyed me, Nila. And now it's my job to make sure they don't destroy you, too."

There's also something about Kestrel. I don't know what it is about him, but I can't tell if he is good or bad. I want to believe that he is the nice one. I want to believe that he really is who he portrays himself to be. I want to believe that he is the one person that Nila can truly trust. I want to believe that the the things he does, and says, are real because he is the nice guy. But, I'm just not sure he is what I want him to be. Oh and I am looking forward to finding out!

I have been, and still am, the biggest Pepper Winters fan! I loved this book and loved the twist and turns that keep me emotionally attached to the story. Once again, the ending gets you. I'm not sure if I'm happy or mad about the truth of Kite007. However, what I do know is...2015 needs to get here NOW!!! I need Second Debt as soon as possible! I need it so that I can lose myself in the story of Jethro, Nila, and Kes once again! I loved it!
