It was worth the wait and more than I could have hoped for!

I didn’t think it was possible for book 2 to be as good as book 1, but Monica James has proven me wrong. I thought I loved Absinthe Of The Heart, but after reading Defiance of The Heart, I may have to reconsider! This time around I feel like Monica has truly outdone herself and threw every single scenario into this story. She seriously did not leave anything out! I LOVED it! Yes, L.O.V.E.D I.T. with all shouty caps because it was just THAT good! I was constantly smiling because of how romantic it was. I swooned because... well, London is capable of bringing any of us to our knees when it comes to his charm! It definitely had me all flustered because there are some seriously HOT scenes going on. But mostly, it had my heart pounding because there were some very suspenseful events that take place that I did not see coming! It really is the whole package. I can literally go on and on about Defiance Of The Heart, but to get the full picture, it’s better if you just hit that button and start downloading now!! You definitely need to start with Absinthe Of The Heart since this is a continuous story. Both will keep you entertained and coming back for more!! And honestly, Monica? All I can say is..

“I am hopelessly in love with London Sinclair.”

If you look at my Goodreads account, you’ll see that I highlighted a few phrases from Shelter. I had a feeling that this was going to be one of those stories that grab a hold of your heart from the very beginning! It seriously had me in KNOTS the whole way through! I was captivated by the characters as well as the story-line! Yes, the story-line was heart breaking, but Cole was everything. At such a young age, he had so much on his shoulders and he really was the best brother and son to Ava and his mom. I felt so bad for him having to endure so much. He was so strong and fierce when it came to protecting them. Although things weren’t always rainbows and sunshine, I am so happy that he had Elise and her mom by his side. I feel that they got him through so much and he was able to let his guard down a little when they were around.

I really liked how Stephanie Fournet wrote this story in two parts. I feel that it gave me a better connection with Cole, Ava, and Elise. She was able give their stories at a young age, and then again as adults. I really enjoyed that versus going back and forth between past and present. I just feel that I’m able to really connect with everything a lot better. All in all, Stephanie really did a great job with Shelter. It will say that it may be hard for some to read, but it really is an amazing story. That pool scene!!! All I can say is... H.O.T!!!

Talk about having the cheesiest smile on your face while reading an entire story! I’m pretty sure people surrounding me at times were probably thinking I must have been getting some pretty good text smiling at my phone like that. Nope! I was just reading a really good book that had me making all kind of facial expressions! I cannot express how much I loved I Bet You! Honestly, the storyline was cute, but it was the characters that hooked me and the little details that just made it that much better! I seriously busted up laughing anytime the word “titlets” was mentioned! Vampire Bill was hilarious,and I loved all the Edward references. Especially when Blaze says he’s #teamjacob without a care in the world. Sometimes I believe it’s these little things that authors add throughout their stories that make me love it even more. Ryker is so damn cute and Penelope has the best personality! Their texting back and forth was addicting! I just can’t stop thinking about how GOOD this book was! After reading, I Bet You I downloaded, I Dare You right away! Yes, I totally started backwards with this series. I can’t wait to get started, and I’m really hoping for Blaze’s story to be next!

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Channing and Heather's story! It was sweet, suspenseful, heart breaking, and beautiful. I haven't read any of the Fallen Crest Series, so my first introduction to Channing and Heather was in Crew. After reading Crew, I wanted to know so much more about them. I was so excited when this book was announced!

"He'd worked his way under my skin in first grade. He'd declared us best friends in third. We held hands in fifth. We shared our first kiss in seventh, and he'd been a headache ever since."

I loved how this story went back and forth between past and present. It really gives the reader insight into how they grew up together, fell in love, and why they were struggling independently and together in their relationship.

"Channing had a face for the runways, a body of tattoos that could appear in any magazine, and an attitude that made him a leader among the rowdiest and most clinically inclined."

Channing... HOLY HOTNESS! I salivated over his character. Alpha, bad-ass, and super sexy! He made me want to lick the pages! Only someone as fierce as Heather could handle all his bravado. Despite their inner strength, both Channing and Heather carried so much baggage. With Channing's intense perseverance and Heather's unyielding determination... these two were explosive!

"There were no pretty words between us. There weren't flowery promises. There was just us. Our love. Our bodies. The addiction we had for each other. We were linked, like invisible chains. They were there, whether we wanted them or not."

The growth that evolved between Channing and Heather was beautiful. I loved how they fought for their own happiness in addition to each other's. Through their trials and tribulations, their love for each other was unstoppable. I could not get enough of their story!

"I am Fallen Crest. I am Roussou. This place is who I am". She looked up, our eyes meeting. "You are who I am."

The Boy I Grew Up With was such an amazing read! It gave me all the feels and left me wanting more from the Roussou/Fallen Crest world. Whether you have read every Fallen Crest story or like me, are just getting started, I highly recommend!
