"Learn from yesterday, Live for today, Hope for tomorrow."
I was looking forward to starting this series, and I'm happy to say, I enjoyed it! It was an easy read. I was able to read it in one sitting! There is a lot of heart break in this story. Bain is struggling to get past the loss of his sister. Since his sister passed away, his family has fallen apart. Bain has also lost his dreams of becoming a professional NBA player. He can't seem to move forward with everyday life, so he tends to turn to something to help him get by. Well, that all changes when he meets Arion.
Arion is the manager of Starbucks and thought her life was going to end up differently. Now, she is trying to move on since her fiancé passed away. She is no longer looking for her happily ever after. All she thought she wantedsomeone to keep her busy with no strings attached. Then, one night, she comes across Bain and they work out the perfect relationship...sex with no feelings involved.
In the beginning, everything goes as planned between Bain and Arion. They hook up when they want, as often as they want, but just like everything else, things start to change. Blain starts realizing that Arion is on his mind more Than he would like and starts to have feelings towards her. Little by little, he lets his walls down and starts to let Arion in. However, Arion doesn't let her walls down as easily and continues to push Bain away. Bain did everything he could to get her to open up and let him in....
"Don't be scared. It's just me, A. Nothing needs to change with us, except you trusting me a little more. You don't need to run from me, you can run to me. Let your walls down, Arion. I promise I won't break them.
As for the ending, it does leave you with a cliffhanger! Warning, I recommend that you do not read the synopsis for book 2, Every Heart. After I read it, I had an idea of how this story was going to end. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the story and the story behind Bain's sister. I'm looking forward to starting book 2 and seeing how everything will unravel!
