“I’m always going to feel responsible for you, Stripes. I’ve felt it’s my job to look out for you since we were six and Aaron Slates stole your ice-cream. I don’t care how many times I have to pick you up as long as you’re by my side at the end of it and I can still make you happy.”

Neve and Blake have been friends since their early childhood, but they grew up with completely different life styles. Blake knew what it was like to be loved. Neve, on the other hand, has never felt like she was enough. Neve's family never showed her what belonging and being loved felt like. They always showed her the complete opposite. Her dad was never around and her mom has always put her down, which caused Neve to believe that no one would ever truly love her.

Blake has always known that there was something about Neve that wasn't right. He can see the pain behind her eyes, and he would do anything in his power to to make her happy. Blake knows that Neve has never really been happy in her life. So, when he asked her to leave the life she has lived, and start a new one with him, he notices the difference he brings into Neve's life. When she starts changing for the better and looks happier, he has never felt more complete.

"This is how I like to see her, carefree and happy. It’s rare nowadays that I catch a glimpse of Neve when she’s truly happy, but in this moment there isn’t a strained muscle in her body. It’s natural, and I can’t stop myself from watching her. I’m still amazed that I’m the one who can bring out her joy and it baffles me that she’s allowed herself to be mine."

I really liked Blake and Neve's relationship. I loved that even before they got together he was always there to protect her and constantly trying to bring out her smile. Blake helped Neve become a better person and made her believe in herself and enjoy the women that she was. As a couple, they were cute together and I was happy to see Neve come out of her shell and live the happy life that she really deserves!
