A LOVE SO TRAGIC by Stevie J. Cole: Review by Lys

A Love so TragicA Love so Tragic by Stevie J. Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Love is an unusual creature. It's painfully beautiful but brings out some of the darkest, ugliest parts of your heart."

Raw. Real. Heart breakingly beautiful. That is how I would describe this book. From the dedication, through Nic's letters, until the very end, I ached over every word. Words are so powerful. They hold so much emotion. I could feel the author's pain when she wrote about loss. I could feel the anguish in the words used to describe the regret in the choices that Peyton made. I could feel the longing in every word that Nic wrote. I loved it...I absolutely LOVED it!

"You never fall in love with someone having the thought that one day you'll need to hate them, but you see, the consequence of loving someone more than they love you is hate. You have to learn that hate them or they will strip your soul fucking bare when they leave you."

I was consumed by Nic and Peyton's love story. Once I started it, I didn't want to stop reading. I instantly became consumed by the storyline, pulled into a world of heart break, love, lies, and betrayal.

Nic and Peyton are characters that you can't help but feel connected to. One minute I wanted to hug them and wipe their tears, and then next, I wanted to slap Peyton and console Nic. Or maybe it was slap Nic and console Peyton? They continuously pulled on my heart strings and left me an emotional mess. They were two people who had a love so fierce, that burned so hot, that no one could walk away untouched.

"You can love a million people, but there's only one person you can completely give your heart to, and once you've done that, it will never belong to anyone else. No matter how much you try, no matter how often you lie to yourself. It's just not possible. And if you say it is, then you've not experienced the kind of love I have for Nic. This type of love - it's destructive, it's raw, it's unforgiving, and it changes you."

I normally don't read emotional books because I'm an emotional girl, and they ruin me, but having read this author before, I couldn't resist! I jumped in on faith alone, and I am so happy that I did. THIS is by far my most favorite Stevie J. Cole book! With this story, she moved me with her words.
