Beautifully Brutal by Nicole Edwards: Review by Lys

Beautifully BrutalBeautifully Brutal by Nicole Edwards

Beautifully Brutal is book 1 in the Southern Boy Mafia spin-off series from the Sniper 1 Security series. This is Courtney Kogan (Trace's sister) and Max Adorite's story. Even though, this can be read as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend that you read the Sniper series first as I was unable to connect with the first 30% of this book having not read Wait For Morning (Sniper 1 Security, #1). The author did warn that the characters would crossover, but I didn't realize how much it would allude to the previous storyline. If you are not like me and do not need to know the minor details or you have already read the Sniper series, I think you will truly enjoy this book. It is packed with angst, action, surprise twist, and some super steamy scenes!

"Their paths should have never crossed. Their lives should've never mingled. And most importantly, she should have never given him her heart."

Maximilian Adorite is heir to one of the wealthiest, most dangerous families in Texas, known as, the Southern Boy Mafia. Courtney Kogan and Max are from two very different worlds. Where Max's family is driven by money and power, Courtney's family is an elite group of security advisors out to protect and save people from the likes of criminals like the Adorite family.

"I love you. Only you. And I refuse to spend another fucking minute without you."

Despite the war raging around them, Max and Courtney fight for what they want most...each other! With their families against them, an engagement gone deadly, and a hit placed on Courtney, they must find a way to make it out alive. Little did they know, that a secret from the past, would be at the center of it all.

If you like romantic suspense novels that are as sexy as they are thrilling, THIS book is for you! Max is one hot alpha male, and Courtney is a gun totting bad-ass heroine. Fans of Nicole Edwards will love this book!
