Release Date: May 8, 2015
Synopsis
Loving Cassie was effortless.
She was a thirst I couldn’t quench.
She was everything I needed, but nothing I deserved.
I failed her more times than I could count.
I lied relentlessly.
And she always forgave me.
Until she couldn’t.
Maybe I deserved to be left behind.
* * *
Jax swept me off my feet with his disheveled hair and his easy smile.
I loved him fiercely.
He made me believe in the fairytale.
Then the walls crumbled around me.
The lies never ended.
I left him behind. I had no choice.
I mourned the loss of him.
But I moved on.
I created a new life,
Now, I was marrying someone else.
Where do we go now that he’s back?
Excerpt
“Jax,” I breathed. I reached behind me, grasping for the door handle to my backseat. When it opened, I pulled his face away from my chest. His lips were red from thoroughly kissing me. His chest was heaving and his eyes were glazed. I smiled and tugged on his hand. I climbed inside my car, lying back on the seat. He crawled on top of me and shut the door behind him. Without pause, he helped me out of my light jacket and tossed it in the front. He pulled my shirt over my head and went back to attacking my breasts. I wrapped my arms around him and ran them over his back. He had never been skin and bones, but now he had more definition. He wasn’t too bulky, there was just enough there that my arousal kicked up another five notches.
I pulled on his shirt, whipping it over his head. He smirked at me, taking my bra off.
“Cassie,” he said, his voice reverent and so full of want that it almost hurt to hear it. “Fuck. I never thought I’d be able to touch you, kiss you again. Now that I started, I’m not sure I can ever stop.”
“Don’t stop. Don’t ever stop.”
He leaned down and pulled a nipple into his mouth. I cried out. His hand slid down my abdomen, my muscles twitching as he moved over them. He popped the button of my jeans and slid down the zipper before slipping his hand inside. He traced his finger over my panties. He groaned.
“Fuck, Cassie.” His whole body went still and stiff, his head buried in my neck. “I think I’m going to die. Right here, right now. If I wake up tomorrow and this was a dream, I don’t think I can go on with life.”
“It’s not a dream, Jax. I’m here, with you.”
He regarded me and the pain in his eyes caused my heart to squeeze painfully. It seemed as though he was about to say something, but instead, he devoured my lips and slipped a finger inside me. I arched my back, ripping my lips away from his. The sensation, the feeling, it was so much. Too much.
“God, you feel so good.” He buried his face in my neck again and kissed, licked, nibbled it. My mouth was wide open, as were my eyes, as he moved his fingers inside me magically. I couldn’t think about anything but the feel of his fingers and the way he was playing my body like a guitar. He still knew exactly how to touch me in such a way that, before long, my hips were bucking against his and I screamed out his name.
He slipped his hand out of my jeans, moving up to brush my hair out of my face. He studied my face as though he’d never see it again. My mind was still coming back down to Earth as he helped me put my bra and shirt back on. Before I knew it, he was sitting next to me, pulling his shirt on. He kissed my lips, long and passionate and so amazingly. I wanted his hands on me again, even though they’d been gone only been a few minutes.
“I don’t want to leave you, Cassie, but if I don’t leave now, we’re never leaving this parking lot,” he said, then pressed a kiss to my forehead.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, kissing him. I never wanted this feeling to end.

4 Stars!
This was another great story by Kristy Love. I really enjoyed both books from this series. We got to meet Jax from The Fragile Fall, book 1. I really liked Jax from that book and I continued to fall in love with him in this story. I felt bad for the life and the struggles that Jax was living with. He has so much on his shoulders with school, work, and having to take care of his mom. Once again this was an emotional read that brought tears to my eyes. Jax was pulled in so many different directions between everything going on in his life that he started to turn to alcohol to get some kind of relief. The more he drank, the more he started to lose sight of everyday life including his responsibilities with work and school. Little by little, Jax's life started to unravel.
One day when Jax is meeting up with his sister for lunch, he comes across Cassie as his waitress. From the first day Jax meets Cassie, he can't stop thinking about her. He then makes arrangements with his sister to meet for lunch again at the same restaurant in hopes to see Cassie again. Jax decides to leave his number on his receipt in hopes that Cassie will call him. When Cassie sees Jax, she instantly feels a connection with him. She knows there's something about him and when she notices his number on the receipt, she feels excited yet nervous. Cassie has a busy life and isn't sure if she is ready to meet anyone new. After much thought, Cassie decides to give Jax a call. Their relationship starts out really slow. Since both are really busy with life, they begin their relationship out as friends. The more they hang out the closer they get. However, Cassie has something she needs to tell Jax that may change everything.
The emotions that their relationship brought out of me were truly amazing. One minute I was smiling and laughing and the next, I was looking for my box of tissues. Their relationship was not easy and they had many obstacles that they had to go through, but with everything that happened from start to finish, I have no doubt that they were meant to be. I am really looking forward to reading Cassie's sister, Roxie's story! I loved her in this story, and one of my favorite parts was when she told Cassie... "Take your head out of your ass, wash the shit off, and call him". I could not stop laughing and I can't wait to read more about her as well as all the other characters from this series!!

The Fragile Fall, Review by Juls
4 Stars!!
I'd like to start off by saying that I really liked that this story was written mainly about Will's life and in his P.O.V. Yes, it did switch back and forth between Will's character and Ryanne's character, but I liked that it was based mainly on the guys character vs the girls character like it usually is.
Will is struggling with guilt that keeps him closed off to the outside world. He hasn't been able to be himself and he doesn't see that happening anytime soon. He's in a new town with no friends. Will suffers from depression that holds him back. Until one day he meets his neighbors Ryanne and Jax. Ryanne and Jax are siblings and are dealing with a mom that left them when they were younger and a dad that is never around. Ryanne has been taking care of Jax since she turned 18. Once Ryanne, Jax, and Will meet, they become close friends. Will and Jax soon become best friends. Through their friendship, Jax can tell that Will is battling with some really strong demons and tries to be there for him as much as he can. He can also tell that the only time Will brightens is when he's around his sister, Ryanne. However, since Ryanne is in college and a few years older, Jax doesn't like the idea of them together. Ryanne and Will's relationship starts as friends. Over time, they start getting closer and they both begin to feel a spark as their friendship grows stronger.
This was a really beautifully written story about love, loss, and the struggle to survive. With one decision Will's life was shattered and forever changed causing him to leave the life he once lived behind. Will was always sheltered while growing up. He was home schooled and was only allowed to talk to certain kids. He never celebrated any holidays or birthdays. His parents were really strict and over protective. Most of his time was spent doing church related activities or in his room. With his new life with Ryanne and Jax he was finally able to live. He lived with so much guilt and loneliness until he was truly able to realize that he could over come anything. There were so many times that I had tears in my eyes because of the pain that I felt for Will. I also wanted to hug him so many times throughout this story. I really did enjoy this book, and I felt that Kristy Love did an amazing job writing about a topic that I can see many teenagers struggling with today. So, if you are looking for a beautifully written, heartfelt story...this one would be it. I'm so happy that I am able to jump right into the next book in the series because I can't wait to read more about these wonderful characters!
